The Medicine Wheel

The Medicine Wheel Project was a community-driven public art and placemaking initiative at the Academy for Global Citizenship that brought together students, families, neighbors, artists, and local leaders to create a sustainable gathering space rooted in Indigenous knowledge, environmental stewardship, and community values. The project culminated in the commission of artist Alfonso "Piloto" Nieves Ruiz and his engagement team, Tiahui, to design and implement a culturally grounded, participatory public art installation.
